How are the girls doing?

Quite well.  We've had both home visits from our pediatrician.  Anna checked out fine at her appointment on Monday evening, and Evelyn checked out fine at her appointment on Friday evening.

Our doctor told us that their weights are progressing well enough (Anna is now  5 lbs 4 oz; Evelyn is now 6 lbs 3.5 oz) since they were discharged that we can go in for weight checks at his office every four days.  If their weights are up (for example, Anna grew 5.5 oz between her home visit on Monday and Evelyn's on Friday) at each weigh-in, we can substitute one nursing session for one bottle feeding.

The doctor said he noted a slight difference between Evelyn's right and left hips.  He's ordering an ultrasound to check it out, but said he wasn't too concerned.

Charlie insisted on telling the doctor that "'Super Why' is funded by a cooperative agreement between the U.S. Department of Education and the Corporation for Public Broadcasting, and by PBS viewers like you.  Thank you."  I'm sure we'll now be reported to Child Protective Services for television abuse.

How are things going?

Boil water.  Pour 8 oz boiled water into Pyrex measuring cup.  Add 4 scoops NeoSure.  Mix well.  Pour into 10 oz bottle.  Shake well.  Refrigerate.  Decant into two 60 ml bottles.  Add nipples.  Place bottles into warm water.  Change diaper while bottle is warming.  Serve.  Burp.  Serve.  Burp.  Swaddle.  Serve.  Burp.  Serve.  Burp.  Swaddle.  Sleep.  Wake after 3 hours.  Wash all glass and plasticware.  Pump breastmilk.*  Begin again.

Alternate:  Consolidate pumped breastmilk into 10 oz bottle.  Add 1 tsp NeoSure per 120 ml breastmilk.  Shake well.  Decant into two 60 ml bottles.  Add .5 ml Poly-Vi-Sol.  Add nipples.  Proceed as above.
